NICE says givinostat, also called Duvyzat and made by ITF Pharma, is the third recommended treatment for the condition.
The guidance notes that evidence from clinical trials suggests givinostat may extend the time people can walk by around five years on average compared with established clinical management, although the full benefit remains uncertain because of evidence limitations.
