The Danish Medicines Council has a new regional representative.
What happened
From 1 March 2026, Region Midtjylland has appointed Kim Houlind, medical director at Regionshospitalet Horsens, as a new member of Medicinrådet.
Key details
- Houlind will represent Region Midtjylland in the council.
- He stated he looks forward to participating in professional discussions on implementing new treatments in Denmark, and noted the council’s task involves weighing effect, patient safety, and healthcare resource use.
- Houlind is an MD and PhD from Aarhus University, with specialist training in cardiothoracic surgery and later vascular surgery.
Outgoing member
Houlind replaces Jens Friis Bak, former medical director at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup, who has represented Region Midtjylland in Medicinrådet since 2017 and has stepped down due to retirement.
