Welcome to Christine!

In NHTA, we are on an exciting journey with an increasingly strong focus on Real World Evidence (RWE). The Danish and the Nordic registry data are globally recognized for its quality, level of detail and long follow-up time. There is an increasing interest and potential in converting these data into RWE that can be used to inform healthcare decision makers through careful analysis and interpretation.

We are therefore very pleased to welcome Christine Marie Bækø Halling to our team! Christine has joined us as Principal Health Economist and she will be leading our RWE projects.

Christine has more than 10 years of experience with Danish registry data and has an extensive experience within registry-based health economic analysis and RWE. Prior to joining NHTA, Christine worked in The Danish Center for Social Science Research (VIVE) as a senior health economist for 8 years. She also worked as a health economist at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, the Danish Health Authority, the Danish Ministry of Health with DRG rates, and the Danish Rheumatism Association.

Christine holds a M.Sc. in economics (cand.polit) from University of Copenhagen. She is going to defend her PhD in health economics on Friday the 11th March. The title of the PhD is ‘Health Economic Analyses Alongside Clinical Trials’. Various topics and methods are used – including cost-effectiveness analyses, cost-utility analyses, and registry-analyses of long-term health consequences of pharmacological treatments. During the PhD she has been affiliated with the Danish Centre for Health Economics (DaCHE).
